Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Scholarships Pay Homage to Fallen Captain

Captain Paul G. Chenkovich died after 23 years of service from job-related cancer.

PLEASANTON, CA — The Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters Foundation recently awarded scholarships to four Tri-Valley students. Jonathan Dourneau, Albert Glancy, Hayden Olsen and Elliot Tripp were each recipients of the $1,000 Paul G. Chenkovich Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship, which provides educational opportunities to children of current and former members of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, Current Reserve Firefighters, Student Fire Explorers and Las Positas Fire Science and EMS students, pays homage to Chenkovich.

Chenkovich died the morning of Nov. 5, 2013 after a three year battle with job-related brain cancer.
