Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters Pay Respects to Fallen Firefighters at Colorado Memorial

A solemn ceremony is held each September at the memorial to remember those who gave their lives to the fire service.

A group of Livermore-Pleasanton and Alameda County firefighters attended the annual IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Colorado Springs, Colorado last weekend in order to honor to those who have lost their lives in the line-of-duty.

A solemn ceremony is held each September at the memorial, which was established in 1986, to remember those who gave their lives to the fire service.

Two Livermore-Pleasanton firefighters have been honored during past memorial ceremonies.

Captain Paul Chenokovich, who died the morning of Nov. 5, 2013 after a three year battle with job-related brain cancer, and Deputy Chief Dennis Laurence, who died in Feb. of 2006 have both been honored in years past.
