Local High School Student Awarded College Scholarship by Stoneridge Shopping Center
The recipient is Corinne Hindes, a graduate of Horizons Alternative School in Pleasant Hill.

Stoneridge Shopping Center, a Simon center, today announced its local college scholarship winner. Simon Youth Foundation (SYF), a national nonprofit that champions educational opportunities for students of all backgrounds, provides the scholarship. Each year, SYF awards a scholarship to a deserving student that lives within 50 miles of a Simon property.
The recipient is Corinne Hindes, a graduate of Horizons Alternative School in Pleasant Hill. She plans to study at the University of Southern California this fall. Hindes is the recipient of the Simon Youth Foundation Community Scholarship, a $1,500 scholarship awarded to individuals based on academic achievement, financial need and leadership involvement at school as well as within their surrounding community.
“Simon Youth Foundation is a national organization, but we can feel the benefit of its efforts right here at home,” said Betsy Edwards, director of marketing and business development at Stoneridge Shopping Center. “We are incredibly proud to award this scholarship to Corinne as she continues her studies this autumn.”
