The title of the grant is Keep Kids Moving.

The following is an email sent out to parents of Lydiksen Elementary School students:Lydiksen School has been awarded a Community Development Grant from the CLOROX Company for $14,000. The title of the grant is KEEP KIDS MOVING which ties to the Pleasanton Unified School District "Wellness Plan" that was adopted in February 2011. This grant came from a request submitted by two teachers, Jennifer Guerin and Martha Allen who worked together, with input from the PE and Adapted PE teachers, along with the Occupational Therapists, tocomplete the written grant. They were then selected as one of fourfinalists to present an oral presentation in March to a panel at the Clorox company. They were thrilled to receive the phone call from Mr. Scott, the Clorox representative, notifying them they were selected to receive this generous donation. This project will add five additional playground structures to the Lydiksen facility. This includes a Double Back Climber and a Reflex which is a piece of equipment that is used for balance. The Miracle Recreation Equipment Company will be installing these larger structures. This grant also includes two sets of parallel bars, and a chin up station that will be installed by PUSD. We are hoping that the installation of all equipment will occur during the upcoming summer break. These structures will add play value and versatility for ALL the students at LydiksenSchool.Ms. Guerin, Mrs. Allen, and the entire Lydiksen Community, would like to thank Clorox! And the Lydiksen community would like to thank Ms. Guerin and Mrs. Allen for all of their amazing efforts in securing this grant for Lydiksen!
