Macy's Pleasanton Putting Final Touches On Store Upgrades
Select Macy's stores across the country received capital for improvements — and the Stoneridge Shopping Center location was one of them.

PLEASANTON, CA — Despite some Macy's store closures this year, the retailer's Pleasanton location seems to be going in the other direction. As part of a growth initiative, 150 Macy's stores across the country received capital for improvements — and the Stoneridge Shopping Center location was one of them.
The enhancements are based on customer feedback and a test conducted at 50 stores that were revamped in 2018, according to the company.
Macy's spokesperson Emily Workman said Pleasanton upgrades include new LED lighting, updated flooring, renovated fitting rooms and restrooms, and repainting the building's exterior and interior. Certain departments were also relocated and improved.

At the Stoneridge store, the company introduced a Macy’s Taste Bar — a quick-service gourmet food and coffee bar, Workman said.
Customer-focused services, technological advances, increased staffing levels and expanded store hours have also been part of the initiative. For example, at Macy’s Stoneridge customers can book a style consultation with a Macy’s Personal Stylist. The complimentary personal shopping service pairs customers with dedicated staff members, Workman said.

All upgrades are expected to be completed next month, Workman said.
The 150 stores that are part of the growth initiative comprise approximately 50 percent of Macy’s store sales, according to the retailer.
