Military Ceremony To Mark 25 Years Since 9/11 In Pleasanton

PLEASANTON, CA — Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert will host a military ceremony at the Alameda County Fairgrounds on Friday, Sept. 11 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The ceremony will feature remarks from Haubert, Alameda County Fire Chief Willie McDonald, and additional community and public safety leaders. It will also feature remarks from speakers personally impacted by the attacks, a presentation of the colors by the Alameda County Fire Department Honor Guard, live musical performances of patriotic music, a ceremonial “Call of the Bell,” a military rifle salute, and the playing of Taps.

“September 11 is a day we pause to remember the people we lost and honor the extraordinary courage of those who responded,” Haubert said in a statement. “As we mark 25 years, I hope our community will come together in remembrance and carry forward the spirit of service, strength and unity that brought us together.”

The ceremony will take place at the Alameda County Fairgrounds Amphitheater at 4501 Pleasanton Avenue from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Guests must be seated by 9:30 a.m. The memorial ceremony is free and open to the community. See here to RSVP.
