New Leaf Community Day Raises Over $1,000 for Sandra J. Wing Healing Therapies Foundation

New Leaf in Pleasanton thanks customers for shopping on July 21 and supporting a local nonprofit serving Tri-Valley community members.

Thursday, July 21 was New Leaf Community Day at the natural grocery store, located at 3550 Bernal Ave, Pleasanton. Five percent of the day’s sales, or over $1,000, will be donated to the Sandra J. Wing Healing Therapies Foundation, based in Pleasanton. This donation will help the foundation provide Tri-Valley area cancer patients with funds for complementary healing therapies to alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. The foundation was established by Sandra J. Wing who benefited from these therapies during her own cancer journey.

Foundation volunteers were on hand during the Community Day answering questions and giving out foundation swag to prize wheel winners. Holistic Chef and cancer survivor Suzanne Aziz prepared tastes of cancer-fighting foods including carrot ginger soup and spinach pea salad with vegan pesto dressing. The next New Leaf Community Day will be October 20 and will benefit the Taylor Family Foundation.

New Leaf thanks its customers for shopping during Community Day and supporting the foundation. For more information about the Sandra J. Wing foundation, visit www.healingtherapiesfoundation.org. For more information about New Leaf community programs, visit: www.newleaf.com/community.
