New "Lifestyle" Safeway Store Opens This Week

A commercial and retail center that includes a opens Friday at 8 a.m. near Bernal and Valley avenues.

The center has the 58,000-square-foot grocery store, a pharmacy, a bank and a restaurant, plus office space.

The new location is larger than the and includes a large wine, cheese, meat and seafood area. The store also has a Jamba Juice, Starbucks and deli seating area.

An invite-only grand opening ceremony is set for Thursday, with dignataries and community members gathering to raise funds for .
