Next Blast Of Rain, Wind Rolls Toward Storm-Weary Pleasanton

Rain and heavy winds up to 39 mph are expected to hit Pleasanton Tuesday, with a possibility of thunderstorms.

PLEASANTON, CA — Spring may have arrived, but blustery and soggy weather will be in place over the Bay Area into Wednesday, with temperatures likely to run unseasonably cool for most of the week ahead.

After a sunny start to the week, the National Weather Service expects rain to roll in by Monday evening and intensify Tuesday before showers taper off mid-week.

Pleasanton is under a Wind Advisory Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Winds are expected to gust up to 39 mph Tuesday, a difficult prospect for a town still cleaning up after last Tuesday's windstorm, which knocked down at least 100 trees and left many in Pleasanton without power for over 24 hours. On Tuesday, 0.58 inches of rain are expected to fall over eight hours, and Accuweather gives a 29 percent chance of thunderstorms. The weather is expected to calm down by Wednesday, with three hours of rain, and gusts slowing down to 12 mph.
