Northbound 680 To Close For Three Weekends In February
A stretch of 680 from Pleasanton to Sunol is scheduled to close from Friday evening to Monday morning on three consecutive weekends.
PLEASANTON, CA — Caltrans is scheduled to close northbound I-680 in Sunol and Pleasanton between State Route 84 and Sunol Boulevard for three consecutive weekends in February, Caltrans said. The work is part of a larger project to repave the northbound section of 680 between Sunol and San Ramon. Southbound 680 will remain open.
The 680 freeway will be closed in the northbound direction between Koopman Road and Sunol Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday on two weekends:
- Friday, Feb. 3 through Monday, Feb. 6
- Friday, Feb. 10 through Monday, Feb. 13
On President’s Day weekend, from Friday, Feb. 17 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 680 will be closed between Sunol Boulevard and Bernal Avenue.

The closures will be rescheduled in the case of rain. The stretch of highway was supposed to be closed over Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend, but the closure was canceled due to heavy rain. Closures are also planned on different parts of the freeway during Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.
California Highway Patrol officers and signs will guide drivers through detours.
