Paid e-Internships for Pleasanton High School & College Students
Go Green Initiative Offers Sustainability-Related Internship Opportunities

Pleasanton high school and college students interested in sustainability issues are invited to apply for a paid e-Internship with the Go Green Initiative (GGI), a Pleasanton-based nonprofit organization. Students will work fifteen hours per week for seven weeks on a project to study Pleasanton’s water infrastructure and water-related public policy, and develop community outreach materials and presentations to help all Pleasanton residents conserve water and protect our water supply. Students will give no fewer than ten (10) presentations to businesses, residents of all ages, and people who work in Pleasanton but are not residents. This project addresses multiple goals in Pleasanton’s General Plan, Climate Action Plan, and Youth Master Plan.
Applications are due by noon on Earth Day, April 22, and students should sign up for an online interview the week of April 27.
“Pleasanton students may have a hard time finding summer jobs in retail and restaurants this year, so we are creating a cancel-proof, high-quality online internship that will help them learn how to work remotely like a professional,” says Jill Buck, founder & CEO of the Go Green Initiative (GGI). “Not only will the students learn about important local water policy issues, they will learn how to collaborate and communicate in a very 21st Century way.”
“Pleasanton’s General Plan and current Climate Action Plan both include the importance of water conservation,” says Celine Leroudier, GGI’s Sr. Project Manager and a 2014 Amador Valley High School graduate. “By the end of the summer, our interns will know why the City is concerned with conservation and will be able to share what they have learned with the community.”
