Parents Use Story From “Baby Carrots-Carrots of Wisdom” to Soothe Daughters’ Tears and Fears

This is a wonderful story that was forwarded to me. I quote.

“My almost 11 year old daughter had a dentist visit last Friday because of one of her front teeth not being quite straight. Long story short, she can get braces now that she would need to wear for 18 months to get that one tooth corrected. She started crying. She is really scared of going to high school in September because she is terrified that other kids will make fun of her crooked tooth (as has happened once or twice in her current school).
That is when the "me too!" story from Baby Carrots came to mind, so I sat her down in the evening together with my wife and told the story to her. It made a real difference ! It prompted my wife and I to also share stories about our insecurities when we were in high school and helped put things in perspective.
When I asked what she thought about the story she said "it is a good lesson", "it is a good story to make you think", "it lowers my fear" and "it does apply to me".
I was so delighted with how the story made that much of difference in our conversation, it took the tears away and although she still has some fears about going to the new school, she can now come to grips with it more easily. Amazing !!”

Thank you for sharing! That is the whole purpose of the book, to help our children understand themselves and the world around them.
