Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle, Critically Injured In Pleasanton

The individual was taken to Eden Medical in Castro Valley.

PLEASANTON, CA — A pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening on Hopyard Road in Pleasanton.

The person was crossing Hopyard, outside of a crosswalk near Hansen Drive, at about 5:30 p.m. when hit by the vehicle, which was driving north on Hopyard, the Pleasanton Police Department said.

Police did not identify the pedestrian or the motorist, and the crash is under investigation.

“It has not been determined whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision,” Traffic Sgt. Steve Ayers said, adding that the driver remained at the crash scene and cooperated with police.
