Pirates Of Emerson Haunt Returning For 2021 To Pleasanton

PLEASANTON, CA — Pirates of Emerson, a 30-year, Halloween-haunt tradition in the Bay Area, will make its 2021, spine-tingling return at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.

And for those with a penchant for frightening folks, the scare-fest is calling!

The acclaimed, haunted walk-thru is holding casting calls Aug. 14-15 for "scare actors," plus make-up artists and production crews, for its 2021 extravaganza, scheduled on select dates Sept. 24-Oct. 31.

"We be lookin' fer new shipmates t' help capture new souls fer Davey Jones' locker!," organizers said.

The hiring event, for those ages 18 and up, will run both days, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fairgrounds on Valley Avenue in Pleasanton.

And for those who prefer to be scared, as opposed to doing the scaring, the good news is the walk-thru terror fest is making its scream-filled comeback, after a year of pandemic-related cancellations of such events.

Tickets are on sale, and capacity is limited — so don't delay on booking your horror-filled adventure. No on-site tickets will be sold, as the event is online tickets sales only, the website states. Info here.

And for more nightmarishness in the East Bay, Fear Overload Scream Park plans its 2021 return.

Details still are in the works, but traditionally the attraction is held September to October at Bayfair Center in San Leandro. Fear Overload organizers also are hosting "scare actor" auditions Sept. 12. Info here.
