Planned Power Shutoffs And Affected PUSD Schools

Planned power shutoffs could affect schools on Monday.

From Pleasanton Unified School District: Power outages have been confirmed at Foothill High School, Lydiksen Elementary and Fairlands Elementary that have occurred in conjunction with Pacific Gas & Electric's (PG&E) planned Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) outage across the Bay Area, including areas of Alameda County due to anticipated red flag winds and wildfire risk through Monday at 2 p.m.

We will be working to gather updated information throughout the weekend. Please keep in mind that this information is fluid based on changing weather conditions and decisions made by PG&E. Individual addresses can be checked to see if they are scheduled for power shutoff at https://psps.ss.pge.com/.

In general, we recommend families to keep cell phones and other mobile devices charged to ensure you’re able to receive emergency notifications if necessary. Families may want to consider other services that may be impacted, (gas pumps, ATMs, etc.) and plan accordingly. Additional resources and information to assist in preparing in the event of an emergency can be found at www.ready.gov.

The City of Pleasanton has set up a helpful website with information and resources related to the planned PG&E Shutoff which can be accessed at the following link: http://psps.cityofpleasantonca.gov/index.html.

We also recommend that families sign up for Nixel emergency notification alerts that the Alameda County Emergency Services and the City of Pleasanton utilize. To register for alerts, visit www.nixle.com or simply text your zip code(s) to 888777.

Thank you for your patience and support as we gather more information on this fluid situation.
