Pleasanton Announces Youth Basketball Registration Deadline

From the City of Pleasanton:

Pleasanton, Calif. —Registration for Pleasanton Youth Basketball (PYB) will remain open through October 7, 2016 for the coming season. PYB is a recreational basketball program open to boys and girls entering grades 1-12. All skill levels are encouraged to participate in this inclusive program.

Participants will learn and improve their basketball skills, make new friends, and learn what it means to be part of a team. Due to the popularity of the program, PYB is open to Pleasanton residents only. Registration fee is $145 and includes a jersey, practice time and league participation.

Practices begin the week of October 24, 2016. Games are played Saturdays December 10, 2016- February 24, 2017. New this year – register for your practice time. Visit here for detailed information. The first three weeks of scheduled practices will be staff-led, skill-building and player assessments.

The City of Pleasanton is also looking for volunteer coaches for the PYB program. To become a volunteer coach you must complete a Volunteer Application and pass a DOJ screening. No prior

coaching experience necessary. Children of head coaches play for free (one free registration per parent coach. Registration fee to be refunded at the end of the season). The City of Pleasanton will hold coaching clinics and provide support, as needed.
