Pleasanton Children's Colonial Band Plays Through Rainy Parade

The Young American Patriots Fife & Drum Corps didn't let the rain stop them from marching down Main Street.

PLEASANTON, CA — Rain may have canceled Pleasanton’s holiday parade, but there was one band that wasn’t deterred. After all, they once beat the British army.

The Young American Patriots Fife & Drum Corps is a Pleasanton-based group that teaches children eight and older to play colonial instruments and music that was popular around the time of the Revolutionary War. The children marched the length of Main Street dressed in handmade replica uniforms of George Washington’s Continental Army, and brought revolutionary cheer to a rainy day.

The group has done over 148 performances, including at the VFW, Stoneridge Creek senior living, the Sentinels of Freedom for disabled veterans, the Lion’s Club, the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, and much more.
