Pleasanton, Dublin School Districts Get High Marks On Niche.com
The performance factors included not only test scores and academic performance, but also what it is like in the district.
PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Unified School District was recently named by Niche.com as the best school district in Alameda County. The district was ahead of Piedmont City Unified School District, which ranked second in the county, and Dublin Unified School District, which ranked third.
The PUSD, which serves approximately 14,778 students in grades TK-12, received an overall Niche grade of A+ based on its performance factors, which include not only test scores and academic performance, but also real-life accounts of what it is like to attend a school in the district. Niche also looks at things like campus life, extracurricular opportunities, sports options, gifted and special needs programs, and student/faculty/curriculum diversity.
In addition to its county ranking, the PUSD was ranked by Niche as the #11 best school district (out of 487 ranked) in California. It was also ranked #1 for having the best teachers countywide.

The DUSD was ranked by Niche as the #23 best school district in California. It was ranked #4 for having the best teachers countywide.
