Pleasanton Girl Wins California Pageant

She will now compete in a national pageant in Florida. Scholarships and prizes will be awarded in 4 age groups.

A Pleasanton girl will head to Florida to compete in the National Miss Jr. Pre Teen competition in December. Nine-year-old Ritika Gupta earned her spot by winning a statewide competiton in Sacramento recently. She’s a student at Donlon Elementary School.

Judging is based on these categories: Personal Interview, Casual Wear Modeling, and Formal Wear Modeling/On-Stage Question.

In the final round of the competition, Ritika was asked, “If you had million dollars, what will you do?” Her mother says that the crowd cheered her answer, “If I had a million dollars, I would save some, I would spend some to have fun with family and friends and donate some for the foundation to support poor kids.”

Her mother, Reena Gupta, told Patch, “This has been an exceptional experience for her starting from getting invited to the pageant to collecting the sponsorship money by calling friends and family. This has taught her so many skills like public speaking, social skills, communication and boost her confidence.”

Ritika is now seeking sponsors for pageant clothing and other needs.

The young pageant winner enjoys cooking, dancing and painting.

Looking to the future, she would like to be the founder of a franchise called “Yet Yummy,” which will focus on healthy meals around 300 calories. Her family has already registered a website for future use.
