The following is a press release from the City of Pleasanton:

PLEASANTON, CA — The City of Pleasanton announces an Open House event to gather community input for the City’s ongoing strategic planning process, to be held on Saturday, May 20 at the Pleasanton Library located at 400 Old Bernal Avenue. Residents and businesses are welcome to drop by the event any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to learn about City processes and share their priorities and vision for the future of Pleasanton.

The City is transitioning from a two-year work plan to a five-year strategic planning process that will identify longer-term goals, priorities, and action plans and match priorities with available resources. The strategic plan will create a vision for the city’s future and guide the development and implementation of projects and programs that reflect the community's values, needs, and priorities.

Inclusive, collaborative decision-making and engagement will help ensure that the final plan represents the Pleasanton community’s diverse perspectives and experiences. The Strategic Plan Open House is a vital opportunity for Pleasanton residents to speak directly to the City to provide input on City priorities and provide feedback on how the City can better serve its community.

In addition to the upcoming Open House, City staff conducted workshops at two Pleasanton farmers markets in April, where staff provided information, engaged in discussions, and accepted input on the City’s budget and strategic planning process. City staff also hosted numerous focus groups to engage key community partners to ensure that the diverse voices of the community are reflected in the Strategic Plan.
