Pleasanton Police Launch Phone Application
The free app can be used to report abandoned vehicles, animal nuisances, and graffiti.
PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton residents can now submit crime tips and receive urgent alerts using a new free phone application launched this week by the Pleasanton Police Department. Tips can be submitted anonymously but the phone application is not for use during emergencies, police officials said in a statement. Residents are urged to call 911 for crimes in progress or during an emergency.
“Our goal is to encourage a deeper connection between the police department and the Pleasanton community,” Pleasanton Police Chief David Spiller said. “The app offers access to the police department in a way the community is most comfortable engaging – through their phones.”
Police said users can report abandoned vehicles, animal nuisances, graffiti and suspected drug activity through the app. The free Pleasanton Police app is available now for download on both Apple and Android devices via the iOS App Store and the Google Play Marketplace.
