Research shows that children who continue to read during the summer months avoid the “summer slide” and retain or improve upon the skills they acquired during the school year. To support this effort, the Pleasanton Public Library offers an annual summer reading game. Participating in the summer reading game is a simple, economical and fun way for children to prepare for the upcoming school year.
