Pleasanton Road-Rage Incident May Have Led To Tracy Shooting: PD

Tracy police think a road-rage incident between two cars on I-580 near Pleasanton may have led to an attempted homicide in Tracy.

PLEASANTON, CA — A road rage incident on I-580 in Pleasanton likely led to an attempted homicide in Tracy Friday, the Tracy Police Department reported online. Two suspects have been taken into custody.

Investigators believe that a shooting in Tracy started as a road-rage incident between a silver/gray Jeep Wrangler and a white Nissan cargo van on the eastbound lanes of I-580 near Pleasanton on Friday afternoon.

At 2:44 p.m., Tracy police responded to multiple 911 calls regarding shots fired in the 700 block of West Clover Road. Officers found a man with life-threatening injuries, who was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The reported suspect vehicle had fled the scene, but Tracy officers located the vehicle on nearby I-205, which was occupied by suspects Eduardo Tarvin, 23 and Jacob Nevarez, 21, both of Lodi. The two suspects were booked into San Joaquin County Jail for attempted murder and shooting into a vehicle.

Investigators are looking for footage or eyewitness accounts of the incidents that led to the shooting.
