Pleasanton School Board Candidates Forum Set For Sept. 21

The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, Pleasanton Weekly and Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation are partnering to host a forum featuring the candidates running for the Board of Trustees for the Pleasanton Unified School District in the November 2020 election. The Pleasanton School Board Candidates Forum is a free event and will take place virtually on Monday, September 21 from 6:00to 7:30 p.m.

There are five candidates seeking election for the three at-large positions on the school board. Incumbents Steve Maher and Jamie Yee are being challenged by Mary Jo Carreon (retired teacher/parent), Kelly Mokashi (e-learning education professional) and Chong Wang (IT consultant/parent).

Moderating the forum will be Pleasanton Weekly President and Publisher Gina Channell as well as the Weekly’s Editor Jeremy Walsh. Any citizen that would like to submit a question in advance may do so via email to Pleasanton Chamber President/CEO Steve Van Dorn at steve@pleasanton.org. Please include your first and last name and send your email no later than Thursday, September 17 by 5:00 p.m.
