Pleasanton Schools Make AP Honor Roll List

See which Pleasanton schools were recognized for their commitment to improving college readiness through AP courses.

PLEASANTON, CA — Amador Valley High School and Foothill High School were named to the AP School Honor Roll, a new designation given to schools that show a commitment to maximizing college readiness.

They were two of 4,570 schools around the country that made the honor roll, which was created in October 2023 to recognize schools that “reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.”

Both Amador Valley and Foothill were ranked “Gold,” based on figures pertaining to the following criteria:

  • 40% or more of the graduating cohort took at least one AP exam during high school
  • 25% or more of the graduating cohort scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam
  • 2% or more of the graduating cohort took five or more AP exams during high school, at least one of which was taken in 9th or 10th grade.

  • San Ramon Valley High School (Silver with Access, meaning it was recognized for improving access to AP courses to underserved groups)
