From The City of Pleasanton: The Teen Poet Laureate brings fun and creativity to various City of Pleasanton events during the year. Examples of past projects that a Teen Poet Laureate could pursue are: Poetry readings on a school campus, open mics, pop-up poetry after school at the Pleasanton Public Library, or having their poems set to music by the High School Music Collaborative
Incoming high school juniors and seniors who enjoy writing, inspiring others, and are interested in contributing to their community are encouraged to apply. The term is the2019-2020 academic year and community service hours are given for this volunteer post.
Applications which will include some examples of writing as well as personal references are due by 5pm Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Pleasanton Public Library. Applicants will be asked to participate in a brief live interview during the week of July 22-25, 2019 at the Pleasanton Public Library.
