Pleasanton Senior Center Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Month Of Fun

The center will host a number of events in September, including a 30th Anniversary Social, Taste of Chocolate fundraiser, and more.

PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Senior Center is celebrating its 30th anniversary throughout the month of September, which the National Council on Aging recognizes as National Senior Center Month.

The center is celebrating with a number of events, including:

  • An afternoon of free demonstrations of bingo, mahjong, bridge, poker, woodshop, watercolor painting, readers’ theater, and knitting (Sept. 6 from 1-3)
  • A 30th Anniversary Social with music, games, refreshments, and crafts, as well a Transportation Fair with representatives from local transportation agencies. (Sept. 28 from 2-4 p.m.)
  • An art show (Sept. 11-15)
  • Arts and Crafts Social (Sept. 8)
  • “Taste of Chocolate” fundraiser (Sept. 14)

“The celebration is an opportunity to reflect on the success of previous programs, acknowledge
our current services and participants, and invite new seniors to enjoy the center for years to come,” Pleasanton Senior Center Recreation Supervisor Zack Silva said in a statement. “Whether it’s trying out one of our art classes, completing a home project in the woodshop, or connecting with others, the Senior Center has something for everyone.”
