Pleasanton Senior Class Honored With Downtown Decor

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton Unified School District graduating seniors may not get to walk down the aisle of a graduation ceremony wearing a cap and gown, but they were honored with a makeover of downtown Pleasanton.

Parents, PUSD staff, City of Pleasanton staff, city council members and PUSD trustees rose early Wednesday to decorate downtown — while maintaining social distancing, of course. Volunteers hung a 20-foot banner congratulating graduates of Amador, Foothill and Village high schools under the Pleasanton sign on Main Street, the district said.

"Congratulations, PUSD Senior Class of 2020," the banner read. "We are proud of you!"

Purple, blue and gold ribbons representing their school colors were tied around lamp posts.
