Pleasanton's Paula Creamer wins U.S. Women's Open
Despite a thumb injury, Creamer rose to the top on Sunday to win her first major championship.

OAKMONT, PA -- Golfer Paula Creamer, of Pleasanton, is all over the headlines after she won the 65th U.S. Women's Open Sunday.
The 23-year-old rose to the top after battling through an injured thumb. The injury limited her to only 40 warm-up shots each day.
The turning point in Sunday's competition came when Creamer hit back-to-back birdies at the par-four 14th and 15th holes. Creamer finished under par with a final-round 69 and totaled 3-under 281.

Creamer beat out Na Yeon Choi of South Korea and Suzanne Petterson of Norway.
