Power Outage, Broken Railroad Gate Affect Pleasanton

Large power outages and a malfunctioning gate near Main Street and Stanley Boulevard caused delays Sunday and Monday.

PLEASANTON, CA - A large power outage and malfunctioning railroad gate inconvenienced Pleasanton Sunday and Monday.

A blown transformer on Seminole Way caused a large power outage in Pleasanton starting at around 4:50 p.m. Sunday, according to Pleasanton Police Department spokesperson Teri Yan. As of Monday at 11:10 a.m., power was restored to most areas, though 65 customers were still without power, according to PG&E.

On Monday morning at around 7:30 a.m., a railroad gate near Main Street and Stanley Boulevard malfunctioned, according to the Pleasanton Police Department. Drivers were asked to avoid the busy area around Stanley Boulevard, Main Street, and Santa Rita Road.

The repaired gate reopened at around 9:30 a.m., Yan said. It is unlikely the gate is related to Sunday’s outages.
