Property Stolen From Unlocked Cars In Pleasanton: Cops

Police said a San Francisco man was arrested in connection with the thefts.

PLEASANTON, CA — A San Francisco man was arrested in Pleasanton on suspicion of possessing stolen property and burglary tools late Sunday night, police officials said. A vigilant resident called to report that a man was allegedly trying to open car doors and peeking into the windows of cars parked along Stonedale Drive.

Police contacted San Francisco resident Benjamin Talley, 31, who matched the description given by the witness, and was allegedly found to be in possession of burglary tools and stolen property from two of the cars. Talley was arrested.

Police said the incident is a reminder to residents to avoid leaving valuables in the car and to lock car doors and roll up windows when leaving a car unattended. Anyone who witnesses suspicious behavior is asked to call police. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Pleasanton Police Department at 925-931-5100.
