PUSD Appoints Interim Superintendent
The Interim Superintendent will replace Superintendent Parvin Ahmadi, who resigned in May to take a post in Castro Valley.

Pleasanton Unified School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jim Hansen as Interim Superintendent for the 2015/16 school year, replacing Superintendent Parvin Ahmadi who resigned on May 28th. We wish to thank Superintendent Ahmadi for all of her hard work and dedication to our children, staff, and the Pleasanton community.
We have an outstanding school district and we are proud of the many achievements of our students and staff. As we embark on a search for a permanent Superintendent, one that will commence in the beginning of the upcoming school year, we look forward to involving our staff and community in a very thorough, inclusive, and transparent process.

Jim Hansen has worked in public education for 34 years, at many different levels, before retiring from PUSD in 2013 as Principal of Amador Valley High School. Mr. Hansen is highly respected throughout the community as an accomplished educational leader. His intelligence, honesty, interpersonal skills and positive influence will benefit him in this role for the next school year.

Jim is a person who cares passionately about Pleasanton and the education of our children and we are grateful that he has agreed to re-join us during this period.

The Board of Trustees is confident in Jim’s leadership and abilities and will work closely with him throughout this transitional period. We appreciate your support and we look forward to a successful year.
