Read With Dogs Saturday At Pleasanton Library

Children can celebrate 20th anniversary of Paws to Read through 15-minute reading sessions with dogs.

PLEASANTON, CA — Dogs are great for playing catch or going on walks, but one of their lesser-known talents is as reading companions.

On Saturday at 10:30, the Pleasanton Library and the Valley Humane Society are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Paws to Read, the beloved program where dogs venture to the library and read alongside children. Children will be able to sign up for 15-minute reading sessions next to these furry friends.

The program will start at 10:30 a.m. with an opening ceremony celebrating the program’s long history. Juliette Goodrich will read her book “Paws Goes to the Library.” Starting at 11, children will be able to enjoy different booths and activities, and reading sessions will last from 11:30 to 12:45 p.m.
