Red Ribbon Week Kicks Off Today

Pleasanton residents and students will be seeing a lot of red around town this week as the community and schools celebrate Red Ribbon Week.

Every year for one week cities throughout the country unite with the color red. Known as "Red Ribbon Week," this week is the largest drug prevention campaign in the country.

Red Ribbon Week is recognized in memory of Special Agent Camarenam who lost his life during an incident related to his role in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

By wearing a red ribbon during this week in Oct., participants show their willingness to stand up against drugs. Schools throughout Dublin plan to do just that.
