Remembrance: Kelsey Ann Meyer
Kelsey Ann Meyer, an Amador graduate and professional flight instructor, died in an airplane accident last month.

Kelsey Ann Meyer died on Friday, February 25, near Cave Creek, Ariz., in a small plane accident. She was 23 years old and a resident of Tempe, Ariz.
She was born February 9, 1988, in Fremont and grew up in Pleasanton. She attended Amador Valley High School, where she played softball for four years.
Kelsey graduated in 2005, then went on to attend Arizona State University in the Aeronautical Technology Management/Professional Flight program. She graduated summa cum laude from ASU in 2009. Kelsey was a pilot and professional flight instructor in Phoenix. She loved teaching and sharing her enthusiasm for aviation.

Kelsey knew from a young age that she wanted to be a pilot, and she followed that dream. She was a member of Alpha Eta Rho International Aviation Fraternity and Women in Aviation.
Kelsey was a fan of the Oakland Athletics and cherished her Barry Zito autographed jersey. She was looking forward to wearing it to the A’s v. SF Giants spring training game, but instead her friends, co-workers, students and family gathered for her memorial.

Local friends and family are invited to a celebration of Kelsey’s life on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the home of her parents, 321 Adams Way in Pleasanton.
Kelsey is survived by her parents, Charles Meyer and Kathleen Turner-Meyer of Pleasanton; brother, Kyle Meyer of Pleasanton; grandmother, Alice W. Meyer of Mill Valley; aunt Cam Meyer of Bend, Ore., and Phoenix; uncle Clark (Kelly) Meyer of Fairfield; aunt Carol (Mark) Dockum of Mill Valley; uncle James (Dawn) Turner of Livermore; uncle John (Anne) Campbell of Klamath Falls, Ore.; cousins Meaghan Campbell, Monica (Kyle) Rodriguez Veilleux, Tara Jane (Joe) Campbell Miranda, Sarah Turner, Brittney Turner and Emily Turner, and great-uncle John (Anne) Turner of Scott, Ariz.; and other family in Oregon, Washington and Texas.
