Safeway Donates $10K, Volunteer Efforts To East Bay Charities

PLEASANTON, CA — The Safeway Foundation donated $10,000 to East Bay food banks, and volunteers helped provide groceries, care packages and more during a Community Service Day.

On May 5, 102 Pleasanton Safeway associates helped with a number of initiatives at the Alameda County Community Food Bank, Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, Hively Family Resource Center, and the Taylor Family Foundation. They helped bag groceries, stock shelves, assemble care packages for children in need, and restored a garden at a campsite for children with diverse abilities.
