Lane Reopens After Disabled Big Rig Prompts Sig-Alert

This is the second big rig in one day to block traffic on the busy freeway.

PLEASANTON, CA — A Sig-alert issued for eastbound Interstate 580 west of Hopyard Road in Pleasanton due to a disabled big rig blocking a lane has been lifted, according to the California Highway Patrol. The hazard was reported at 1:30 p.m. The truck, which has since been moved, brought commute traffic to a crawl in Tri-Valley.

The CHP issued the alert at about 2 p.m. Early Friday morning, another big rig ran out of gas on Interstate 580 near Grant Line road in Alameda County near Livermore prompting an alert and slowing commute traffic.
