The Sacramento man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP officials.

PLEASANTON, CA —A Sacramento truck driver was killed in a collision on westbound Interstate Highway 580 when his truck overturned this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash involved two big-rigs. The driver and passenger of the second truck were not injured.

The collision was reported just after 12:30 p.m. The CHP issued a Sig-alert for westbound Interstate Highway 580 west of Fallon Road. Two lanes were closed for about 3 hours but have since reopened.

Both big-rigs were heading west on the busy highway when one tried to pass the other, but they clipped each other and the rear big-rig overturned on the right-hand shoulder, CHP Officer Tyler Hahn said.
