SigAlert Issued On Northbound 680 In Sunol After Truck Overturns

Just one lane is open as crews clean up garbage that occurred due to the overturn.

PLEASANTON, CA — A SigAlert was issued on northbound I-680 near Sheridan Road in Sunol after a truck overturned. The driver suffered minor injuries.

As of 12:40 p.m., all but one lane remained closed. Crews are in the process of cleaning up garbage that spilled out as a result of the collision, and there is no estimated time when the other lanes will reopen, according to CHP Officer Tyler Hahn.

Just before 9:30 a.m., a truck was leaving a scale facility and traveled onto the 680 on-ramp at an unsafe speed, which caused it to overturn, Hahn reported.

A SigAlert was issued at 9:30 a.m., and remains in effect. Drivers are advised to use 880 northbound to get to 238 and 580.
