PLEASANTON, CA — Peter Miller shared this photo of a rattlesnake he saw at Augustin Bernal Park. Miller said he saw the snake along a concrete barrier.
If you see a rattlesnake, do not panic. Stay at least five feet away to stay out of striking distance. Make sure not to throw anything at the snake, which could cause the snake to move toward you.
Alert other people to the snake's location, and advise them to stay away. Make sure to keep dogs on leashes in areas where rattlesnakes may live.
