Soroptimist of the Tri-Valley Honored Local Women
During the annual awards presentation, four Tri-Valley women were awarded and honored by the Soroptimist of the Tri-Valley club.
The Soroptimist Club of the Tri-Valley recently awarded scholarships to several local young women on May 22nd.
The Dale Vaughn Bowen award is presented to local women high school graduates who are preparing for college and have lost a parent to cancer. Dale Vaughn Bowen was a long-time member of the Soroptimist Club and the awards are presented in her memory. This year’s scholarships went to April Chen and Lindsay Gill.
Madeleine Wang was the recipient of the Violet Richardson award which honors students who have outstanding leadership in community volunteer projects. She is the founder and CEO of This Side Up Foundation. The foundation raises funds to assist in registering organ and tissue donors and in education and research.

The Live Your Dream scholarship went to Brittany Musselman. This award assists women who are supporting their families while re-entering college and pursuing employment opportunities and career objectives.
