Storms Delay Repairs to Popular Pleasanton Trail
BREAKING: The Arroyo Mocho trail was first closed in January.
PLEASANTON, CA — A popular Pleasanton walking and bicycle trail remains closed due to continued inclement weather, city officials said. The Arroyo Mocho trail, which is located along West Las Positas and I-680, was abruptly closed in January after the slopes started to slide into the canal following days of heavy rains.
Sunday night, the barricades surrounding the trail had been blown down by the wind from the most recent storm to move through the Tri-Valley. City officials said that since the closure, some minor work has been performed to help stabilize a portion of the trail but until the ground dries out, repair work will have to be put on hold.
The east side of the Alamo Canal trail from Val Vista Park is also still temporarily closed to all pedestrian traffic and bicyclists.
