Pleasanton Home Shed Catches Fire, Explosion Sounds Reported
LPFD crews contained a fire that broke out in a home shed on Abbie Street early Saturday morning.
PLEASANTON, CA — The shed and carport awning of a Pleasanton home caught fire early Saturday morning, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department. Neighbors also told firefighters that they heard explosions.
No injuries were reported, and the main house only suffered minor damage, LPFD Battalion Chief Craig LaRont told Patch.
Units received reports of a structure fire and sounds of explosions on the 800 block of Abbie Street at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, LaRont said. Crews found a fire burning the side of the house, a shed, a car, a carport awning with miscellaneous items, a 30-foot fence between another home, and an exterior 10 x 20’ building. LaRont said the explosion sounds likely came from ammunition stored in the shed.
