Suspect Brandished Handgun During Pleasanton Robbery Attempt

Police are investigating and the suspects remain at large.

PLEASANTON, CA — Two suspects tried to rob a person in Pleasanton Sunday night, police officials said. The crime occurred along Stoneridge Mall Road near McWilliams Lane at about 10:30 p.m. Two men approached the victim, who was walking away from the BART station, according to police. One suspect brandished a handgun and the other grabbed the victim’s backpack.

“The suspect who grabbed the backpack appeared to squeeze the backpack several times before throwing it on the ground towards the victim,” police told Patch.

The suspects fled the area and were not found. The victim was not injured during the incident.
