PLEASANTON, CA — A “swatting incident” occurred Wednesday night near Muirwood Drive near Foothill High School in Pleasanton, according to the Pleasanton Police Department and neighbor reports. “Swatting” refers to making a prank call to emergency services in order to bring a large number of officers to a particular location.
In a social media post, a resident reported a SWAT team near a private home, with streets taped off. She also reported hearing officers yelling for someone to leave the house with their hands up. Another person reported many officers hiding behind the side of a house on Aspen Court.
