Teen Suspected In Pleasanton Stabbing Arrested

Police said the stabbing occurred after a drug deal went awry.

PLEASANTON, CA — A juvenile was arrested this morning on suspicion of attempted murder, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon following a stabbing near a Pleasanton skate park Sunday, police officials said. The victim, who was suffering from multiple stab wounds, sought help at the Stanford Valley Care Emergency Room and was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley due to the severity of his injuries.

Police said the stabbing, which was likely a drug deal, occurred in a parking lot near the Ken Mercer Sports Park. After identifying the 17-year-old suspect and obtaining several warrants, the teenager was arrested on Tuesday morning at 9:20 a.m. and was booked into Juvenile Hall. The victim is expected to recover and the suspect’s name will not be released due to his age.
