Learn about the critical times and pioneering people who founded the Livermore Valley.

From TV30: Livermore history, the art contained within century-old stained glass windows, and the anniversary of St. Michael’s Church are the subjects of the latest edition of About the Tri-Valley. Dr. Barbara Mitchell, a distinguished art historian, joins Dr. Marshall Kamena to connect all this with the early families and their present-day Tri-Valley descendants. Learn about the critical times and pioneering people who founded the Livermore Valley. See up close the beautiful stained glass works of art.
"The first St. Michael's Church was built in 1872 and destroyed by fire in 1916. The new Church, built in 1918, is celebrating 100 years in Livermore." said Dr. Marshall Kamena, host of About the Tri-Valley. "Twenty-two renaissance-style stained glass windows were made for the 1918 Church," said Mitchell. "Many of the windows are dedicated to early pioneers in this Valley."
From familiar names in the valley like Concannon and Bernal, these original religious art works have quite a story. About the Tri-Valley is airing on Tri-Valley Community Television on Comcast TV Channel 30 and AT&T U-verse on Channel 99 and Video-on-Demand at tv30.org.
