Gina Abercrombie and Justin Teel could face more than five years for allegedly taking more than $700K from her stepfather.

PLEASANTON, CA — A Pleasanton couple is on trial for allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from a golf course owner near Fresno, according to reports.

Prosecutors allege that Gina Abercrombie and fiancé Justin Teel took more than $700,000 from Abercrombie’s stepfather between 2017 and 2022. Abercrombie and Teel were arrested in Pleasanton in February 2023 and booked into Santa Rita Jail on charges of theft from an elder or dependent adult by a caretaker and obtaining money, labor or property by false pretenses.

According to prosecutors, Abercrombie was managing her stepfather’s golf course and his personal finances. She and her fiancé applied for business loans pretending to be her stepfather, Randy Hansen, the owner of Sherwood Forest Golf Club in Sanger, near Fresno.
