PLEASANTON, CA — A dump truck filled with dirt overturned Tuesday along the east side of the I-680 freeway in Pleasanton, but the driver sustained only minor injuries, according to a Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department spokesperson.
The late-morning mishap occurred as part of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project to maintain Zone 7 area around the Arroyo de la Laguna waterway, according to LPFD Deputy Chief Aaron Lacey. The overturned truck was contracted by the Corps to move excavated dirt, Lacey said.
The truck driver was able to get out of the rig and was transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure, Lacey said.
