Valley Humane Slashes Adoption Fees On Black (Cat) Friday
Who said black cats were bad luck? Adopt a black-furred feline for free over the weekend.

PLEASANTON, CA — Waking up before dawn on Black Friday to score deals? Been there, done that. Valley Humane Society wants you to skip the shopping centers and adopt a cat for free or a discounted adoption fee during its Black Cat Friday sale this weekend.
Black cats are free and cats of other colors can be adopted for half off, Valley Humane said in a press release. The first 10 adopters will get a $25 Pet Supplies Plus gift card.
"Black cats are always in style," the press release said. "They go with everything and have vibrant personalities that suit any lifestyle."

All cats are checked by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and given flea treatment. Adoptions will take about an hour and will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cats will not be put on hold, the press release said.
Valley Humane is located at 3670 Nevada St. in Pleasanton and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale runs Friday and Saturday. For more, visit valleyhumane.org or call 925-426-8656.
